Whatever size your home extension or alteration project, Allerton Design can help you help you reach a solution that you may enjoy for years to come. I will normally be pleased come and meet you at a convenient time, free of charge, in order to discuss your requirements and queries. I will explain the process including whether or not your project will require planning permission.  However due to Covid 19 I am not arranging any Initial Meetings until further notice.  You may however  contact me by phone or using the contact button below to be placed on a waiting list.

Following this meeting, Peter will provide a clear and comprehensive fee proposal. This will set out your basic requirements and the scope of work Allerton Design will provide. We will then wait for your instruction to proceed with the planning stage.

The planning stage normally takes take 4-5 weeks. You should then allow a further 8 weeks for planning approval, if this is necessary.

Additional Planning Services

Allerton Design also offer further services which include:

  • More detailed exploration of the design options.

  • Basic 3D Visualisations

  • Design for Conservation Areas and Listed Buildings

We will discuss these with you where they are appropriate for your project and provide a fixed fee tailored to your requirements.


Our popular fixed fee planning package is is sufficient for most home extensions and includes the following services:

  • A measured survey and existing drawings.

  • Site location plan

  • Outline development of proposal, with plans and elevations (including two or three options where appropriate).

  • Meeting to discuss proposals.

  • Completion of drawings ready for planning application including any changes from above meeting.

  • Submission of planning application if required.


Whilst I am progressing current projects I am not offering any intial meetings until the current restrictions are eased.
