Once the planning package is completed, and you have received any planning approvals that are required, you will be in a position to confidently instruct Allerton Design to progress to the detail stage. 

The detail design stage normally takes 3-5 weeks. Allerton Design will prepare a detailed to design to comply with the current Building Regulations and make an application for Building Control Approval. We will then provide you with a professional package to obtain competitive quotes from building contractors.


Our Detail Design Package is sufficient for most projects and includes:

  • Party wall notices to adjoining owners if required.

  • Plans, sections and elevations: Fully dimensioned with specification notes for Building Regulations and Construction

  • Standard roof details. Drainage, electrical and heating proposals.

  • Building Control Application including resolution of any queries from Building Control.

  • 6 sets of drawings and information pack

  • Homeowner building contract.

  • Respond to pre-construction queries from contractors

Additional Detail Design Services

Some projects may require a further detailing and specification,  Allerton Design can provide the following:

  • Custom details, required for conservation areas, listed buildings and non-standard construction.

  • Liaise with specialists regarding water recycling, heat recycling and energy generation schemes.

  • Detailed specification of materials and workmanship

  • Detailed Schedule of Works

We will discuss these with you where they are required for your project and provide a fixed fee tailored to your project.
